Toledo Faith & Values is pleased to welcome Aya Khalil as a new contributing writer.
Khalil graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor of arts degree in communication and English literature and will be writing about Muslim issues for Toledo Faith & Values
At UT, she wrote for The Independent Collegian, and has since written for the Toledo Free Press, Lowcountry Parent Magazine, the Post & Courier, Illume Magazine, and American Muslim Mom.
After graduating from UT, Khalil moved to Charleston, S.C., where she received her master's in education with a focus in teaching English as a second language. She wrote for Lowcountry Parent Magazine and The Post & Courier. She worked as an after-school teacher at local schools there.
Khalil also wrote for Illume Magazine, an award-winning online magazine that focuses on Muslim issues around the world, and has blogged for American Muslim Mom.
She lives in South Carolina with her husband and baby girl.
