This bald eagle was on display at the Apple Butter Festival in Grand Rapids, Ohio. The national bird of the United States, the bald eagle is the only eagle unique to North America.

Have we internalized anger as a characteristic of the collective national psyche ? Have we used anger to fuel our imperialistic inclinations ? Would things have gone differently if our national bird looked like this ? We’ll never know.
