VIEWPOINTS: Looking back at 2012, what spiritual lessons stand out?

The end of one year and the beginning of a new one serves as a good time to pause and reflect on the year that's passed as well as make plans for the future.

Since claims that the Mayans predicted the world would end in December 2012 proved unfounded, we're still here and able to look back on the year that is ending and look ahead to the year that is dawning.

Were there any spiritual highlights or lowlights in 2012 that stand out to you, and what spiritual lessons, if any, did you learn that will help you in 2013 and the years to come?

  1. As a member of the Baha’i Faith , my personal understanding of the end of the world also an be translated as the end of time or of an era .
That the ” prophetic cycle” ended with the Prophet Muhammad and the Bab instituted the ” cycle of fulfillment ” in 1844 in Persia . My understanding is that all the promises of all faiths are in the process of being fulfilled in this day . And that the bringing of the Kingdom of God to earth is a process , step by step , that can take part over generations .Not in a twinkling of an eye .
Mankind has moved as we have been collectively educated by Manifestations of God to the end of the turbulent cycle of adolescence into the beginning of maturity .
In a word , Baha’is are seekers of spiritual truth who have come to believe through independent investigation of the truth that Baha’ullah is the promised one of all faiths for all time .The return of Christ . This is my experience, strength and hope and I’d encourage interested people to read the writings for themselves and come to their understandings…Thank you for posting this thought on the end of the world ..
