Presidential advisers say focus is on candidates’ values, not personal faith

Senior faith-based advisers to President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney said the primary issue for them this election is the candidates’ values and competency, not their personal religious views. “I don’t view myself as having a job speaking about my candidate’s faith. I’m speaking about his candidacy for the office of the president,” said Mark DeMoss, a Romney adviser.
